Commit the Way

The turn of a year invites plans, promises, and a fresh look at what needs to change. Psalm 37 gives us a quieter beginning. Commit your way to God. Take faithful action. Trust him with the parts you cannot command.

Commitment includes movement. We make the call, create the plan, tell the truth, seek help, and follow through. Trust releases the demand to control another person's response, the timing, or the final shape of the outcome.

Confusing responsibility with control creates anxiety. We carry outcomes as though effort could guarantee them. Surrender helps us hold the work honestly. We can be diligent without treating ourselves as sovereign.

As this year closes, name what belongs in your hands and what belongs in God's. Offer both to him. Walk into the new year with a clear next step and open hands. Faithfulness is enough work for today.
