Listen for Instruction

We often ask God for direction while standing beside the instruction he has already given. We want a map of the next five years. God may be asking for faithfulness in the next five minutes. His guidance often arrives through Scripture, conviction, wise counsel, or a responsibility already resting in our hands.

Psalm 32 describes a God who teaches and watches over his people. His guidance is personal. He does not toss directions from a distance. He forms our judgment as we walk with him. That means discernment grows through relationship, obedience, and practice. We learn his voice by responding to the light we have.

The next step may feel unclear because several choices are reasonable or because the right step asks something costly of us. Wisdom begins by telling the truth about which uncertainty we are facing. Fear can call obedience confusion when the direction is already plain.
Look again at what God has placed in front of you. A conversation may need honesty. A habit may need attention. A decision may need patience. Direction usually becomes clearer after we honor the instruction already within reach.
